Birth through Kindergarten

Intro

Welcome to Starting Point! It is our goal to create the most fun and safe environment possible for your child to learn about God and have their “starting point” with Him. Our ministry includes children from Birth through Kindergarten. We use cutting edge curriculum designed specifically for each age group that include dynamic activities, games, and songs. Our leadership team is made up of gifted teachers who love Jesus and love children. Come see us this Sunday!

I’ve never been to Starting Point before. What do I do when I get there on Sunday?

When you arrive at Turning Point, park in the far west parking lot and come in that entrance. Starting Point is your first right when you enter. Walk up to the right side of the desk under the sign that says “Guest Check-In”. A member of our Starting Point leadership team will then assist you with the check-in process. Save time by printing off our Guest Information card (Click here), for each child, and bring it with you on Sunday. If you have any questions before Sunday, please e-mail our Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Carrie Wiley, at carrie@myturningpoints.com.

What do I need to know about your Security Procedures?

All members of the Starting Point leadership team have had a background check. We ask that parents and guardians do not come behind the check-in desk as a way of securing the classrooms so that only team members who have had a background check will work behind the desk. We use security tags that have that week’s randomly assigned security number on it. That number will match your child’s name tag and bag tag. We use that number to match the nametag when you come to pick up your child. We also use that number to flash on the worship screen in the Worship Center in case of emergency or problems in the classroom. If you have any questions or concerns about our security procedures, please e-mail the Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Carrie Wiley, at carrie@myturningpoints.com.

What curriculum do you use for this age group?

We use age-appropriate video curriculum from Saddleback Church in California. We are currently in a series entitled “Soul Food”. Children are learning about how “tasty” the things of God are. To help your children learn more about their weekly lessons, download the Family Interaction Guide and follow along each week!

I saw my child’s picture up in his/her classroom. How can I get a copy of that picture?

The world’s greatest photographers, James and Brook Price, attend our church. You can contact James and Brook at www.jamespricephotography.com.

My child’s picture is not in their classroom, but I would like it to be. When is the next photo shoot?

We will take new pictures on a quarterly basis. The next shoot will be on Sunday, August 12th beginning at 9:15 and will last until the start of the service at 10:30. There is no charge for your child’s picture to be hung in their classroom.

I am interested in joining the Starting Point Leadership Team. What do I need to do?

To become a member of the Starting Point Leadership Team, simply fill out a Leadership Application (click here) and turn it into the Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Carrie Wiley or the Children’s Ministry assistant, Melanie Griffith, at the church office. They will then give the information you need to fill out a background check application and assuming no reports from the check, we will add you to the Leadership Rotation. For more information about becoming a team member, email Carrie Wiley at carrie@myturningpoints.com.
