Worship Ministries
It is a priority for us at Turning Point to create a relaxed, informal
atmosphere during our Sunday morning services. We place a premium on worship,
and enjoy our weekly times of corporate praise & worship. One characteristic of
the worship time at Turning Point is the tremendous freedom for individuals to
express their love and praise to God in an outward, exuberant manner, or a much
more introspective, quiet way. At Turning Point, there is no preconceived
notion of what worship should sound or look like.
Family / Adult Ministries
A number of opportunities are available for adults at Turning Point. While we
place a large emphasis on providing for our kids, we also strive to provide
first-class ministry to adults of all ages, whether single, married, divorced,
widowed, etc.
Preschool
Preschool children, ages 3 to 5, have a specifically tailored program that
teaches them the love of God in a language they perfectly understand. Numerous
activities and crafts, as well as creative lessons are included each time.
Preschool classes are offered Sunday mornings from 9:15 to 12:00, and on
Wednesday evenings from 6:45 to 7:45.
Little ones, from birth to age 2, experience God's love in our Nursery. The
Nursery is staffed with loving and godly adults who take wonderful care of our
youngest attendees. The Nursery is available the same hours as Preschool.
Children's Ministries
Children are incredibly special at Turning Point! That's why we make such an
effort to offer the best possible programs for our children, no matter the age.
We believe that our children represent the future of the church; therefore, we
diligently endeavor to "train them up in the way they should go."
We also realize that children learn differently from adults, so all our
children's programs are tailored to meet their high energy levels and
abbreviated attention spans. In other words, we have a lot of fun!
Cross Point
The College Ministry of Turning Point strives to serve students from all South
Plains institutions of higher learning, including Texas Tech University, Lubbock
Christian University, South Plains College, and Wayland Baptist University.
Sunday School
Sunday School classes are available at Turning Point for everyone, from newborn
through grandparent, and every stage in between. All classes are an hour in
length, and begin each Sunday morning at 9:15 or 10:45.

Evangelism
The Evangelism Ministry exists to provide opportunities for the people of Turning
Point to become actively involved in sharing the gospel in a variety of ways.
Community
The Community Ministries of Turning Point exist to help build up the local body
of Christ. Several ministry opportunities currently exist in this area, with
others on the drawing board.
Discipleship Ministries
Discipleship at Turning Point is an ever-changing, ever-expanding ministry. We
are continually seeking better avenues for raising up true disciples of Christ.
Missions
Even though Turning Point is still an extremely new church body, the Missions
ministry is still considered extremely important. A number of plans for this
particular area of ministry are currently in the works.
History
On January 19, 2003, 215 people met at the Science Spectrum for the inaugural
worship service of Turning Point Community Church. A week later, we celebrated
our first baptism.
Since that time, TPCC has occupied a total of four temporary worship
locations--the Science Spectrum, the Cooper Elementary School, the Chapel of
Indiana Avenue Baptist Church, and our current location at Lubbock's Seventh
Day Adventist Church (53rd Street & Elgin Avenue).
