First through Fifth Grade

Intro

Welcome to Kids Point! Our goal is to help kids reach the “point” where they can meet with God and learn to live their lives for Him. Our ministry includes 1st grade through 5th grade. Whether it be our upbeat, lively praise and worship or our dynamic, cutting edge children’s curriculum, kids have the time of their life while learning how to praise their creator! We have a talented volunteer team that really know how to reach kids on their level and have a lot of fun! Come see us this Sunday!

I’ve never been to Kids Point Before. What do I need to do when I get there?

Come in one of the two main entry ways into the church foyer. Kids Point is located across the foyer from the N*Fusion coffee house. Fill out the small amount of information on our Guest information card and ask the Kids Point leadership team member to help you with a nametag for your child. When your child walks into the classroom they can look for a seat and jump into the opening activity. Boys sit on the left side of the class and girls sit on the right. To save time, print and fill out the guest info card and bring it with you on Sunday. (click here to download).

What curriculum do you use for this age group?

We use age-appropriate video curriculum from Saddleback Church in California. We are currently in a series entitled “Soul Food”. Children are learning about how “tasty” the things of God are. To help your children learn more about their weekly lessons, download the Family Interaction Guide and follow along each week!

I saw my child’s picture up in his/her classroom. How can I get a copy of that picture?

The world’s greatest photographers, James and Brook Price, attend our church. You can contact James and Brook at www.jamespricephotography.com.

My child’s picture is not in their classroom, but I would like it to be. When is the next photo shoot?

We will take new pictures on a quarterly basis. The next shoot will be on Sunday, August 12th beginning at 9:15 and will last until the start of the service at 10:30. There is no charge for your child’s picture to be hung in their classroom. You can find James in the foyer in front of the Kids Point room.

I am interested in joining the Kids Point Leadership Team. What do I need to do?

To become a member of the Kids Point Leadership Team, simply fill out a Leadership Application (click here) and turn it into the Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Carrie Wiley in the church office. She will then give youthe information you need to fill out a background check application and assuming no reports from the check, she will add you to the Leadership Rotation. For more information about becoming a team member, email Carrie Wiley at carrie@myturningpoints.com.

What is the Kids Point Mall?

The Kids Point Mall is a store located inside Kids Point where kids can spend their kids bucks. Merchandise includes, caffeine free cokes, little debbies, candy, small toys and games, t-shirts, stickers, coloring books, hats, gift items, etc…. The Kids Point mall is open every third Sunday of the month before and after the service. (click here) to download a coupon to the Kids Point Mall. The only currency accepted is Kids Bucks.

How do kids earn Kids Bucks?

Kids earn Kids Bucks by bringing their Bible, bringing a friend, simply showing up with a good attitude, answering questions, or sometimes just because.

What is LLP?

LLP stands for Listening Learning Position. Your bottom is in your chair, your feet or on the floor (or hanging towards the floor if they don’t reach), your hands are in your lap and your lips are zipped. This puts children in a position to listen and learn during the lesson time.

What is the Tub of Wonder?

The Tub of Wonder is our way of welcoming our first time guests to our service. In exchange for basic information (Name, grade, school, if you were a super hero who would you be?), each guest is awarded a prize from the Tub of Wonder!
