Monday Morning Thoughts
– 08/18/08
27. That’s how many people made decisions for Christ yesterday, for which we had a card. Many were salvation experiences. Wow! Praise the Lord! I’m so grateful for our worship team. Week in and week out they lead us... ( More)

As I’m sitting here typing this, I’m four minutes into Monday morning – actually a late-nighter on Sunday night, thinking about the day… I expected our youth bunch to be a pack of zombies after getting back from Rock the... ( More)

Monday Morning Thoughts

Sitting here, thinking about our weekend and the upcoming week…
- Worship yesterday was incredible. And by that, I don’t just mean the band and vocal team (although that was pretty sweet). I mean the whole congregation, lifting up praise to the Lord.
- I am so grateful for Tammy’s honesty and transparency in sharing part of her testimony. I pray TPCC will always be people who love out of a pure heart, a good conscience, and a faith without faking (1 Timothy 1:5). You sure met Tammy there, and it transformed her life and ministry.
- Did you hear the question that Carrie asked Tammy after she had come to TPCC for a few weeks? It was about her son, Taylor, who has Asperger’s Syndrome and ADHD. Carrie asked, “How can we serve Taylor?” That has me thinking… in what other arenas can we ask that question. How can teachers ask that question of their adult class members? How can preschool workers use that question to approach their time in the nursery, or with four-year-olds? How can you ask that question to first-time guests?
- Speaking of first-time guests, I am thoroughly pumped about the number of first-time worshippers we have had in the last three weeks – we’re approaching 100. If you’re one of those people, let me ask you, how can we serve you?
- Speaking of four-year-olds, did you see the kids making their own ice cream last night? How cool was that? It was a work of wonder.
- Speaking of ice cream, who ever thought of putting Reese’s in with coffee? Or strawberries in with brownies, in chocolate? Or some of the other amazing recipes we got to experience? Congrats to the winners, but I think all of us who came away sugar-dazed and full were the real winners.
- Last week the staff started talking about “disaster scenarios.” Not the typical disasters, mind you, but plans for what to do in case we completely run out of space. The biggest need immediately will be in preschool, children, and adult ed space. We’re working on some ideas. More later…
- Speaking of children’s ministry, Steve reports that he’s seeing progress in having people step up for service. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you.
- Stay tuned for a revamped IMPACT NIGHT, starting Wednesday August 27.
- I am so blessed, and you’re one of the reasons why!
