Monday Reflections - November 10, 2008
– 11/10/08
If worship is supposed to be something like “heaven practice,” then yesterday was certainly that. I felt so alive, so “toward Him,” if that makes sense! Thanks Allen, Lorna, and worship band/team members for so beautifully leading us to... ( More)

If you happened to be in the first service, let me add an insight from Fred, one of our regular attenders. After going through the random list of David’s stress-producers (fear, verbal opposition, physical weakness, etc.), Fred made the... ( More)

Monday Reflections

Looking back at yesterday with great appreciation and wonder...
- I figure I must have had around one and a half hours of sleep Saturday night. Never have I encountered a night of spiritual warfare like that one. I won't bore you with the details, except to say when the Holy Spirit is at work in specific areas, so is the enemy.
- I am so greatful to God for spiritual leaders and friends. Two partners in ministry prayed with me Sunday morning prior to the first service, along with some regular Sunday morning prayer partners. The result was incredible. I felt absolutely NO physical symptoms or fatigue. And I think we saw some significant breakthroughs on a spiritual level in both services.
- THE WEDNESDAY MESSAGE FROM A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO that I mentioned Sunday, simply titled "Seventy," is now available from our podcasting link here on the web site. I would encourage you to download it, or listen to it online.
- Our worship team has shifted their rehearsal times to Thursday nights. Sunday was the first fruit of that, and I am so proud of their efforts. You guys are awesome! Thanks for your flexibility during the service.
- Meanwhile, more than 80 students joined us last Wednesday for the second week in a row. AND, more we had 100 children here Sunday! Praise the Lord!
- Praise the Lord for the two people we baptized Sunday! More to come in that area. Thanks, Chad, for covering that.
- Our finance team met Sunday afternoon, as they usually do. This month's big challenge: How do we provide space for our burgeoning children's ministry, as well as adult ed space. We're working on some short-term AND long-term solutions. More to come.... Next stop - the elders.
- I am so grateful for the Lord's blessing and protection of our city during these tense economic times. That said, I am also praying about an idea I will be sharing with the elders Sunday, and with you later about how TPCC can be a light to Lubbock. I'm calling it "The Joseph Project."
