Monday Reflections - November 10, 2008
 – 11/10/08
If worship is supposed to be something like “heaven practice,” then yesterday was certainly that.  I felt so alive, so “toward Him,” if that makes sense!  Thanks Allen, Lorna, and worship band/team  members for so beautifully leading us to... (More) (RSS Feed)
Monday Reflections

If you happened to be in the first service, let me add an insight from Fred, one of our regular attenders.  After going through the random list of David’s stress-producers (fear, verbal opposition, physical weakness, etc.), Fred made the... (More) (RSS Feed)
Sunday Night Reflections

“How beautiful You are, How merciful You are, How glorious you are…”  Wow!  What worship!  Thanks Allen and team for a great day of encountering God in worship.   It’s encouraging to hear of the testimonies of people who... (More) (RSS Feed)

How to Deal with Failure

Monday Morning Thoughts
  • 27.  That’s how many people made decisions for Christ yesterday, for which we had a card.  Many were salvation experiences.  Wow!  Praise the Lord!
  • I’m so grateful for our worship team.  Week in and week out they lead us to shake off whatever’s on the outside (in our case yesterday, a dark, sleepy day) and embrace the call of God to worship Him.  Yesterday was no exception.  Thanks, guys!
  • It’s one thing to feel good and excited about a place you experience every day/week.  It’s another to have a fresh set of eyes, like Len Turner’s, to come in and observe.  I can’t tell you how proud I was of you, because of the many things he saw in our fellowship that were healthy and growing.
  • Let the record show that if NOBODY ELSE listens, the Lifeline Singles group does!  Imagine my surprise when I go into my office yesterday afternoon, and lo and behold, there’s about 2 million calories of dessert sitting on the table.  Ha!
  • I’m not 100 percent sure, but I think yesterday was our biggest Dream Day ever.  The feedback was outstanding, and the feed wasn’t too bad, either!  We’ll be crunching all the data over the next few days, but let me tell you, some things have already emerged as clear direction.  More later.
  • Our elders met yesterday and made a unanimous decision to hire Allen Weathers (cool initials, huh?) as our worship leader.  Allen and Denise are already becoming an integral part of our church’s life.  Though he officially starts on September 1, he is already involved in the planning, leadership, and development of our worship ministry.  We’re excited about Allen becoming a part of the pastoral leadership team.
  • This coming Sunday!  Back-to-School prayer!  Multi-generational worship.  New Adult Ed classes at 10:30.  I can hardly wait!
